Earlier this week, rapper Lil Peep was found dead on his tour bus after consuming six Xanax pills. At the age of 21 Lil Peep was recognized as the face of Emo Hip Hop, depression, and litness to his 1.7 million followers on Instagram and fans.
His death has sparked several conversations about depression and drug addiction. People with depression tend to justify their negative feelings and habits by calling it a chemical imbalance. Despite being able to do other tasks of everyday life and the debunking by specialists in various fields of studies.
“Speaking to Pitchfork earlier this year he revealed he is not medicated for depression and insisted he does not like to pay for drugs but will take ‘any that comes his way’. He said: ‘I’m not (medicated for depression). Everyone always begged me to, but I don’t want to do it. I just like smoking weed and whatever other drug comes my way. Most people usually have to set out to find drugs. I don’t like to pay for it. I just like to get it for free.'”
“ ‘I suffer from depression and some days I wake up and I’m like: “F**k I wish I didn’t wake up”. That was part of why I moved to California, trying to get away from the place that was doing that to me, and the people I was around. I realized it was just myself — it’s a chemical imbalance in my brain’. “
I just wana be everybody's everything I want too much from people but then I don't want anything from them at the same time u feel me I don't let people help me but I need help but not when I have my pills but that's temporary one day maybe I won't die young and I'll be happy? What is happy I always have happiness for like 10 seconds and then it's gone. I'm getting so tired of this
Dj Khaled’s former We The Best signee Nino Brown has become a social media sensation due to his rants of various topics. So when he heard the news he felt like a conversation needed to happen. Some may find his opinion distasteful, but he still makes valid points. In a twenty minute rant he addresses the logic of someone with a poor diet repeatedly taking drugs as strong as the ones that killed the late Michael Jackson and how their names reflect their age. He also questions their ability to accomplish things while taking these drugs. ” A real nigga can’t get to the money and get high all day.”
According to Web Md, simply smoking a cigarette while on Xanax can put your life at risk. So when you take more than you are prescribed you’re putting your life in danger. But, this is not the first time the rapper tried to take his own life. Most survivors of suicide attempts are grateful for another chance. It didn’t appear to be the same way for him. His life became one that millions would die for after his failed attempts and it didn’t matter that his music was helping his fans. Readers of self help and other psychological books understand the significance of words and the power of manifestation. As well as the understanding that energy can’t be created or destroyed only transferred and it is in everything that we do or say. Hopefully in his life after death he found what he was looking for. See Nino’s full rant below and tell us what you think.
